What is green terror?

Green terror, scientifically known as Andinoacara rivulatus, is a species of cichlid fish native to the rivers and streams of South America, particularly in Peru and Ecuador.

These fish are known for their vibrant green and blue coloring, which becomes more pronounced as they mature. They have a striking appearance with iridescent scales and elongated fins.

Green terrors are territorial and aggressive fish, especially during breeding season. They are best kept in large tanks with plenty of hiding spots and territories to establish dominance.

These fish are omnivorous and will eat a variety of foods including pellets, flakes, live foods, and vegetables. They are relatively hardy and can tolerate a wide range of water parameters, although they prefer slightly acidic water with a temperature between 72-82°F.

Green terrors are popular among aquarium hobbyists for their beautiful colors and interesting behavior. They can live up to 10 years in captivity with proper care.
